Spring 1 - Newsletter
Gwanwyn 1 -Cylchlythyr
Dear all at home,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and ready for an exciting update on all that has been happening at Llansannor and Llanharry C/W Primary School this term. It's been a busy time for all of us, packed full of exciting activities and accomplishments!
We kicked off the term with some extraordinary visitors. The amazing team from Mad Science wowed us with fascinating experiments, DinoMania brought the past to life with their incredible dinosaur exhibits, and the BBC Now orchestra inspired our budding musicians with their beautiful melodies.

Year 5 & 6 Young Voices Choir 2025
One of the highlights of this term was undoubtedly the trip to the O2 with our talented Young Voices choir from Year 5 and Year 6. It was a fantastic opportunity to sing at the O2 Arena and our pupils had the experience of a lifetime performing at such a prestigious venue with thousands of other young singers. To celebrate their achievement, the children put on a wonderful evening performance for family and friends at Llangan Primary, sharing their talent and enthusiasm with our school community. A huge well done to all involved - we are so proud of you.
A Special New School Prayer
Our Worship Leaders have worked incredibly hard to create a new school prayer that truly reflects our vision and values. Their thoughtful words will inspire and guide us as a school community. Da iawn to our Worship Leaders for their dedication and creativity. #faith #schoolcommunity #school values
Y1 & 2 visit rest Bay
Our Year 1 and Year 2 students had a fantastic time exploring fossils at Rest Bay. It was a joy to see them working together and discovering the wonders of our natural world.
Year 5 and 6 Football Tournament success!
Our Year 5 and 6 football teams invited Y Bont Faen to take part in a friendly football tournament and what a fantastic event it was! We are incredibly proud to say that we won ALL our games, with some brilliant teamwork and lovely goals from all three of our teams.
A HUGE thank you to all our amazing parent coaches who volunteered their time to support the teams - we couldn't have done it without you! #Teamspirit #Footballfun
Schools of Sanctuary Award
For the last two years we have been working really hard towards gaining the Schools of Sanctuary Award. Being a school of sanctuary means we are a welcoming inclusive place where everyone feels valued.
We are thrilled to share that we have been awarded the 'Schools of Sanctuary' award. This important recognition celebrates our commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. What the panel said...
"The school has shown a strong dedication to recognising and celebrating the contributions of people seeking sanctuary and migrants to the UK."
"The school has created a culture of welcome and inclusion."
"Amazing work involving pupils in decision making processes, organising interfaith events...the school has empowered pupils to become active agents of change."
We have had lovely day celebrating with a visit from a magician, 'This is me' dressing up and cake, which was kindly purchased by 'The friends of Llansannor'. Thank you everyone in our school community who have helped make this possible.
